Aesthetic and functional procedures: when they make sense, and when they don't

Regenerative AestheticsPlastična kirurgija in estetska medicina

A procedure is a narrow-indication tool, not a solution for vague dissatisfaction. The most common cause of a poor outcome isn't technique, but choosing the wrong procedure or the wrong timing.

Program 27 describes the criteria behind our decisions, and the preparation that largely determines the result.

0 1

The line between aesthetic and functional

Functional procedures address an objective limitation — breathing, mobility, skin changes, injury after-effects. Aesthetic procedures address appearance. Both have their place, but different success criteria.

For a functional procedure, the criterion is measured function; for an aesthetic one, it's realistic expectations, which need to be aligned before, not after, the procedure.

0 2

Preparation determines the outcome

Healing quality depends on the internal environment. That's why, before a planned procedure, we review the same parameters as in the longevity program.

  • Well-managed glycemia and protein intake.
  • No smoking for at least four weeks before the procedure.
  • Adequate sleep and low inflammation levels.
  • A review of medications and supplements that affect blood clotting.
0 3

When we advise against a procedure

We advise against a procedure when expectations are unrealistic, the internal environment is unmanaged, during periods of significant psychological strain, or when the same effect could be achieved with three months of lifestyle changes.

Declining a procedure is just as valid a professional outcome as performing one.

Aftercare

The post-operative period has its own plan: loading, sleep, nutrition and follow-up appointments. A first realistic assessment of the result is possible after eight weeks, a final one after six months.

All procedures are performed by a specialist physician within a registered healthcare institution (Estetical), in their own name and under their own responsibility.

Relating the program to your baseline

The professional team can help select appropriate measurements, monitor change and assess the effect in the context of your data.

Results are individual and vary between people; they do not represent a promise of a specific outcome. HUMAX organizes and coordinates measurements and consultations carried out by independent licensed specialists, and does not perform healthcare activities.

Next step

This program is a general starting point. What makes sense for you is determined at an initial triage consultation (€150, 45 minutes) — resulting in a written proposal for your measurement scope, with no obligation.
